From a young age, I learned to adapt easily to my environment and to always be prepared for any obstacles life throws my way. I have made six permanent moves in my life, most of which were within the southeastern United States in Florida, Alabama, Georgia, and Mississippi. Growing up I found the process of moving to be difficult, and quite honestly painful at times, because establishing worthy relationships and finding comfort in my surroundings was always a challenge. In retrospect, I gained a new perspective of the world and made life-long connections with each move. My outlook on life is versatile and fulfilling as a result of my different experiences within these communities.

I am an undergraduate student at the University of Florida pursuing a Dual Degree in Anthropology and Biology and enrolled in the International Scholars Program. I am passionate about giving those who are oppressed agency, learning about new cultures and admiring the natural world. Because of these passions, I wish to pursue a career in forensic anthropology so I can combine human anatomy with understanding of a given society to come to medicolegal conclusions. My goal as an individual is to live a life of service to others, lead as a positive influence through my actions, and to exemplify outstanding character with everything I do.

I work extensively with the Books Not Bombs Campaign and Students Organize for Syria at the University of Florida. These two outlets, both of which have strongly correlated objectives, have positively shaped my understanding of organizing social movements, taking initiative of situations, and filling in as a leader when needed.

This portfolio is an extension of my work within the International Scholars Program at the University of Florida to showcase my personal and global perspectives.
